My fee per session is $165, and sessions are 50 minutes. Reduced fee sessions are offered on a limited basis. Please email me about reduced fees if needed.
I do not accept insurance and am considered an out-of-network provider. I can provide you with a receipt or Superbill that you may submit to your insurance company for reimbursement, at your request. Clients often get reimbursed this way, but this does depend on your coverage.

Getting started is simple! Reach out through the contact form or by email to share a little about what’s bringing you to therapy. We can then schedule a free 15-minute consult call—I’ll answer any questions you may have, and we can determine if we’re a good fit. From there, we can schedule your first session and start the work!

Most sessions are held in person at my office in Franklin, TN. However, I do offer telehealth or online sessions on a case-by-case basis — whether as a one-off session for typically in-person clients or as our primary mode of meeting, for those living in other parts of TN. If we agree to virtual sessions, we will use a confidential, HIPAA-compliant online platform called Simple Practice.
-
Short answer - YES! Everything we talk about in our sessions will stay between you and me unless you sign a Release of Information for me to disclose information to another person. There are a few exceptions to this, in accordance with Tennessee state law as well as professional ethics and guidelines. These exceptions are:
Suspected abuse of a child, dependent adult, or elder
Threats of serious bodily harm to another person
Intentions to harm yourself
Subpoena by court
We’ll discuss confidentiality more in our first session together.

IFS is one of the primary ways I work with clients. IFS is a therapeutic approach that views each person as having an internal system of parts and a core Self that is characterized by curiosity, compassion, creativity, connectedness, calmness, clarity, courage, and confidence. As we go about our lives, these parts take on different roles and overshadow our Self. These parts may show up as perfectionism, anxiety, depression, inner criticism, shame, addiction, etc. While on the surface these parts may seem bad or unhelpful, when we take the time to get to know them, we can see that they all have positive intentions for us. Many of our parts protect us from pain, and others have been carrying a wound and would benefit from releasing the pain they are carrying. IFS gives us a map for unburdening those parts and placing the Self back in a leadership role, similar to the role of a conductor leading an orchestra.

EMDR is a trauma processing modality I occasionally use with clients healing from trauma, as a partner to IFS. EMDR is an acronym for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. It is an evidence-based form of therapy that taps into the brain and body’s natural healing abilities to heal symptoms of emotional distress that are the result of trauma. EMDR uses bilateral stimulation (eye movements left and right, alternating tapping) to help you effectively work through disturbing memories. The process of this bilateral stimulation is thought to replicate what our eyes do during REM sleep - shift back and forth, left and right - which helps engage in processing events of the day, rest, and heal for the next day. In addition to making the things in your past and present less painful, EMDR helps individuals increase their connection to positive thoughts and feelings. This enhances their resilience and ability to face future events in a more balanced and empowered way. In other words, EMDR helps make the things in your future less daunting.

That’s entirely up to you! Some clients come in with a specific goal in mind and stay just long enough to achieve that goal. Others appreciate ongoing support from therapy, whether through a transition or phase in life or as a regular checkpoint during their week or month. I check in with clients at regular intervals to make sure we are continuing meaningful work together, whatever that looks like to each person.
